The Bargain Queen would go broke if all the fashion coverage she read was purchased at the newsagent. Those glossy pages with their beautiful photos are fantastic, but they quickly get expensive (especially considering The Bargain Queen’s penchant for the overseas editions).

So The Bargain Queen’s going to let you in on her secret online fashion reading list. All these sites offer great fashion articles, and some have gorgeous pictures too:

• Sydney Morning Herald Fashion; The Age Fashion
  Starting with local coverage, The Bargain Queen’s favourite sites are The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age (Melbourne) web sites. Personal favourite: Maggie Alderson’s Style Notes column archive
• Times Online’s Women
  The Bargain Queen’s favourite fashion web site, this reliably has great stories on both hight fashion and chain store clothing, plus beauty and lifestyle coverage. Recent favourite: this story on Dita von Teese
• New York Times Fashion
  This is The Bargain Queen’s second-favourite fashion web site. There haven’t been many great stories in the last couple of weeks, but there’s usually interesting stuff here all the time. Especially brilliant are the occasional T Style magazines (the whole magazine is published online!) and Cathy Horyn’s show coverage
• W Feature Story on Style.com
  Amazing photos and well-written stories. There’s only one added each month, but they’re always great. Recent favourite: Tom Ford: “When sex goes out of business, so do we.” (Warning: not work-safe)
• New York Metro Fashion
  A new addition to The Bargain Queen’s regular reading list. Current favourite: The Fashion + Money issue

If these can’t get you through a glossy magazine craving, budget intact, nothing will!
