Tips for smoother shaved legs

[ moisturiser image ]Christina at eBeautyDaily has some great tips for super-smooth leg shaving:

  1. Soak in the tub or stand in the shower for a few minutes to allow your hair to soften. Not too long though, or your skin will swell up and make your shave not as close as you think it is.
  2. Exfoliate your legs first with soap or a scrub and using an exfoliating glove (these are the BEST).
  3. Use a fresh blade on whatever razor you love (always a good idea for infection prevention anyway).
  4. Shave a couple of times, in a couple of directions, using long, smooth strokes.
  5. Finally, follow up with a good body cream.

Sounds much better than the pain and expense of waxing to me, even if it doesn’t last quite as long!

A fresh blade every time? Blimey? I use my trusty Bic disposable every second day (sometimes third if it’s a weekend) for a month before I toss it!

Ah! After doing a barbering course I can add this professional advice, like the barber get yourself a little brush to apply with as this helps raise the hair from the skin. Follow the growth of the hair. Now the real trick, do it again, against the hair growth as this will get very close. But if you really want to save money, marry a beautician, or raise one!

Thanks for the tips Dean! Mr BQ saves a lot of money because I’m hairdresser-ish enough to work a set of clippers… I don’t think my efforts to train him in beauty therapy are working though! ;)
