By Sydney's Bargain Queen, Sara. July 27, 2007. Bargains, Makeup, Under $20, Under $50

Remember last week when I said the only expensive mascara I’d consider is DiorShow?
I just found out about a cheaper alternative: Christian Dior Diorshow Unlimited Mascara.
Same mascara + smaller brush = only $19.50, eight dollars less than the best price I could find for regular Diorshow!

Gorgeous Italian pumps that are fine for even the most conservative office… and are now 70% off. Sound too good to be true?
These Bruno Magli Women’s Rokita Pumps
are the ultimate job interview shoe and they’re marked down to $74.89. The catch? Only sizes 6.5, 7 & 9 are left.
PS: If $75 is still too rich, try these AK Anne Klein Women’ s Case Tailored Pumps
for a mere $23.89. Available in sizes 7.5, 8.5 and 9.5.

So 80s-style fluoro is back.
This is one trend I wouldn’t spend big on — but if you’d like to try it in a small way, this American Apparel 2×1 Rib U-Neck Tank Top
is perfect.
Wear it peaking out from under a shirt of jacket and you’ve got a hint of up-to-date colour. It’s guaranteed to not make you look like a fashion victim, even if you lived through fluoro the first time like I did!

Looking for a shoe that goes from Casual Friday to a spring wedding to a night out in the summer heat and looks great at each?
My pick is these AK Anne Klein Women’s Halliday Wedge Sandals.
Amazon has them for $21.89, down from an original price of $74.95 — but the navy ones are only left in an 8M. The good news? There are lots more left in red and black.

You could easily pay $20 for a single lipstick.
Or you could spend your hard-earned cash on an adorable purse-size compact that gives you lots of lip colour options.
The Lancome Palette Juicy Rouge — No. 002
has four great lip colours… but even better, you can mix two or more colours together to make your own custom colour, so you have almost unlimited colour options in one small compact!
Strawberrynet have it for US$19.50 (half the RRP!) or £10.00.

We have some more exciting news to celebrate:
Last week, AustralianBlogs.com.au released their updated list of Australia’s Noisiest Bloggers and we came in at #45 — by far the highest rank of any Australian fashion or shopping site. We’re pretty chuffed!
We also moved house last week and now live in a fabulous inner city apartment. Wonderful as the ‘burbs have been, it’s not really the type of lifestyle we want. So back to the city it is.
If that wasn’t enough to keep us busy, we’ve also been working behind-the-scenes on some exciting new developments for The Bargain Queen. Stay tuned for some more news!

![[ Boss Intense fragrance perfume sample: detail ]](http://s38608.gridserver.com/images/product_pics/boss_intense_sample1.jpg)
Picking a new perfume is hard because scents smell different on different people — so you need to wear a fragrance for a few days before you know if it suits you.
If you can’t convince a cosmetics saleswoman to give you a sample vial of a fragrance you’d like to try, you can buy them online at Fragrance Monkey instead — and most are under $5. While that’s a lot for a few drops of perfume, it’s much cheaper than buying a big bottle that doesn’t suit you!
(My pick: Boss Intense
for US$4.70.)
