Longchamp shoulder bag, US$154

detailstriped longchamp shoulder bagI absolutely love bags, but until recently I had never paid more than $50 for a bag. I’ve tended to be rather sceptical of big names, but when the original Bargain Queen herself admitted to being “obsessed with Longchamp bags”, I had to find out more about them.

According to Sara, and many others on the net, Longchamp bags are very well made (unlike some of the cheap bags I have that are sadly coming apart at the seams after just a few uses). I’m happy to announce that I am now a proud owner of a Longchamp bag and you can be, too.

This striped Longchamp shoulder bag was originally $325, but is now available for just $154. I love the burgundy patent leather straps and the bright stripes (the exact color pattern of the stripes might vary). It’ll definitely stand out while still complementing many outfits. Plus, the side pockets are perfect for your cell phone and keys.

Absolutely! I LOVE bags and will often find myself wanting a new bag more regularly than a new outfit. (very odd!)
Im also in agreement that spending a bit more -wisely of course- is the way to go, as you can “wear” the bag, rest it for awhile and then use again. It becomes part of your classics collection.

Well said, Kimberly! I feel the same way.

I feel a lot more comfortable buying bags than clothes. Maybe because there aren’t the fit issues that come with clothes and I know that bags will last a lot longer than my clothes (especially good ones like the Longchamp bag).

I also like that I can wear colors and patterns on my bags that wouldn’t look right on me if I wore them on my clothing. The Longchamp bag I just bought is fuchsia and purple. I love both colors, but wearing most pinks too close to my face makes me look flushed.

And of course, accessories truly do make the outfit!

I heard Longchamp is a very good brand. I would love that bag.

I can now personally vouch for their quality. When I got my first Longchamp bag recently I was really blown away by the quality. The stitching was perfect and every detail looked as though a lot of thought went into it. I showed it to my husband, an engineer, and he was impressed as well.

I absolutely love that bag. I still think $154 is alot for a bag, but a girl can dream!

As I admitted above, I have only bought one bag over $50 that I can think of and that was a Longchamp bag - and technically, it was a gift from my husband. However, I’ve been really impressed by the quality. I have no doubt that my Longchamp bag will far outlast my other cheaper bags.

Also, while names aren’t everything, I’ve enjoyed having a bag with recognizable and well-respected name. Sad to say, but some salespeople will treat you better if you have a name bag.
