Ruched ruffle halter dress, US$34.99

detailhalter-neck dressWhether you wear a size small or 3X, this dress will show off your curves in all the right places. It’s a show-stopper either on the dance floor or at a romantic dinner, and the ruffled, asymmetrical skirt will show off your legs while still leaving a bit to the imagination.

The dress is available in black, red, and burgundy. All are great choices. Choose black if you need a little black dress, or choose the red or burgundy to turn up the heat.

Not sure between the red and the burgundy? If your face comes to life in cool colors such as blue or green then the burgundy would probably suit you best; if warm colors like orange and yellow earn you compliments, you’ll look best in the truer red. These aren’t strict rules though, so at $34.99 you might be tempted to get more than one color.

That’s SUCH a beautiful dress. I’m not even sure which color I’d get. Maybe black, since I don’t have a LBD yet.

ooh so cute! and they have big sizes :)

In fact, they increased the range of sizes to 5X since I first wrote about this dress.

I can’t say how much I appreciate it when companies have a variety of sizes. I went into a store today and everything seemed to be XS to M (and the mediums were very small). Since the store doesn’t seem to be doing that well, I think they need to re-evaluate the sizes they carry.

Joining the crowd here loving this dress - in burgundy.
I like the color, the halter, the ruching, the assymetry.

    Hey all,

I ended up buying this dress (it was so pretty!) in burgundy last week for a wedding. The dress is very pretty, but it is also very slinky and clingy and it shows everything, even if it covers much of it up with fabric. It hits at about knee-length, but the fabric that the ruffles are made out of are a bit sheer, so the dress gives the impression that it’s shorter than it actually is (which adds quite a bit to the sexy factor - like Meg said, it “will show off your legs while still leaving a bit to the imagination”).

The one thing I didn’t like about the dress was the halter top part - you tie it in the back, but, since I have a small bust (32A), I had to tie it really tight to stop the dress from slipping down and revealing my undergarments (there’s no built-in bra). That made it a little uncomfortable, and a bit worrisome because I was always afraid my undergarments would show.

I wore it to a wedding this past weekend - unfortunately, both I and my date overdressed a bit, so perhaps our outfits together were slightly inappropriate - but it was still all good. I was staying at a hotel and I changed in the spa’s locker room. ALL of the ladies who walked by complimented my dress. :) It’s a gorgeous dress, very sexy, and well worth a purchase. Just make sure you have equally glamorous evenings that you can wear this dress to. :)

    Thanks for the info Jennifer!

Since we don’t get to see most of the bargains in person, we definitely appreciate feedback from our readers as it helps other readers decide if a bargain we feature is right for them. It’s also helpful for me and the other writers to know what works and what doesn’t.

It’s a shame that it doesn’t have a built in bra. It might be worth taking it to a good tailor to see if something can be attached. Or, since you have a small bust, sticky silicone bra cups might also be just the ticket. They’re also available for larger women, but they don’t provide the kind of support we need.
