Clarisonic skincare brush kit, $195

brush detailclarisonic kitWondering what all the buzz is about? Check out the Clarisonic skin care brush system kit. It’s one of Oprah’s Favorite Things and by the looks of the reviews, she’s not the only one in love with this product. The vibrating bristles massage and clean your face like no facial cleanser can do alone. Users report smaller pores, less skin congestion and acne, lightening of dark spots, and even fewer wrinkles.

Now, $195 isn’t cheap, but compare it to the cost of a few professional facials — not to mention more drastic treatments — and this system is definitely a bargain. Plus, users report that they now use less of other skin care products like moisturizers and acne medications. Over time, this system will pay for itself.

Sadly, this product isn’t likely to go on sale any time soon and the $195 price is standard across the reputable sites that I’ve seen. However, the seller we’ve linked to will give you free shipping with the U.S. and a $20 Amazon gift certificate to use towards future purchases on Amazon.com. Warning: if you’re considering this as a gift for yourself or someone you love, don’t wait too long. It’s quickly selling out around the web.

Available in white and pink, and ships worldwide.

Ummm … I wanted to mention a few possibly cheaper alternatives.

There’s the Neutrogena At Home MicroDermabrasion System for around $40.

Or Revlon RVS1131 Moisture Stay Facial Care System - it’s an electric facial brush and other attachments for $20.

You can also get non-electric facials brushes for under $10 but you wouldn’t get the nice spinning action.

The Calrisonic looks like it has a better fuller brush but I bet you could get similar results with the Neutrogena system I mentioned (that would be my pick for something similar.)

Thanks Hilary! I really appreciate your tip, and I’m sure our readers do, too.

For those that don’t want to spend $195, those do sound like good alternatives. From what I’ve been able to find and read, they are a bit different and don’t work quite as well. However, such a small difference in effectiveness may be a reasonable sacrifice for such a significant savings.

I also want to mention that I just purchsaed mine, and I can feel that my skin is softer after about a week of use. You should keep an eye out for discounts, I got mine with a coupon through drugstore for about $50 off the price shipped!

By the way, if you do get the Neutrogena Microdermabrasion, there’s currently a $5 rebate available at:
