Flower hair clips, $9 - $35

pink orchidwhite orchidWhether or not you’re going to San Francisco, try wearing a flower in your hair this spring for an unexpected pop of color.

It’s an inexpensive alternative to this season’s trendy floral prints if you’re looking to incorporate florals into your spring wardrobe — and why not, they’re feminine and fun.

Torrid.com has several lovely flower hair clips for just $9! Among others, I particularly like this yellow rose clip and
this one in red
.

For $35, you can get one of these stunning orchid hair clips from Karin’s Garden. While that may seem a little pricey for a hair clip, it’s a very reasonable price for an accessory that will add so much pizazz to so many outfits year after year.

All the clips featured ship internationally.

Maybe I ought to get one for my friends’ wedding ;) I’d love an orchid clip

I think that would be lovely, FB — but I dare say, you may steal the show ; )

I’m seriously considering getting the pink orchid clip, but they’re all so pretty it’s hard to decide.

So pretty! Thanks for sharing these!

I love wearing flowers in my hair — especially in the summer time.

The obvious problem is that fresh flowers fall apart, but I also don’t like that a lot of fake flowers just look too…fake, lol.

But these look very pretty from their pictures (particularly the Karin’s Garden one). I might just have to snag myself one of those ; )

You’re welcome, Jazmin!

I’m happy to hear that you wear flowers in your hair because I really love the look!

I’ve been keeping my eye out for nice fake flower clips, but most of them did look really cheap. I got to see the ones from Torrid up close, and they were much better than those I had seen at other shops.

The ones from Karin’s Garden look absolutely gorgeous, though — at least as far as I can tell from the photos. I hope they are just as lovely in person because one of the pink orchid clips is on its way to my doorstep. Based on what I’ve read around the web, I’m pretty confident that I won’t be disappointed.

Hi Meg!

Yes! I love doing a sort of Billie Holiday-inspired look with a low messy side bun and a flower clipped in behind my ear.

I’ll definitely take a look at the ones in Torrid…and please be sure to post what you think of your new Karin’s Garden clip! I’d love to hear what you think of it :)

Hi again, Jazmin!

Ooooh, I love Billie’s look (and sound)!

I’ll definitely leave a follow-up, at least here in the comments section if I don’t do a full follow-up post!

I love Billie Holiday, too : )

And I’ll look forward to your follow-up!

Nice idea for those of us who don’t do florals (I avoid prints any more complicated than stripes, dots or the once-in-a-while tartan, as I find patterns become too “trendy”), as it is a great way to bring that lush flower brightness in, smart.

I don’t do a lot of patterns either, Anastasia, at least not in my clothes! I really am more into accessories, so I keep my clothes relatively simple.

I have a few dresses that are floral and I still like them, but I don’t buy many new things with patterns. My new tops are almost all solid colors, and I’ll do a simple pattern on a skirt like a nice plaid or black with white polka dots. The most pattern I’ve had lately was two skirts I got recently that have sort of an ink blot floral. They’re the same except that one is black and white, and the other is a very dark navy and white (what can I say, I really liked the style).

I have a few floral clothes in mind that I might recommend, but for very specific reasons.

O.k., I got my pink orchid clip and have been wearing it — a lot. I’ll probably mention it some more in a future post, but I just wanted to let everyone know that it was worth every penny!

The quality is much, much nicer than all the other floral clips I have seen. The ones from Torrid are still very nice (also much better than most), but the Karin’s Garden clip is gorgeous. I’ve already had one friend buy a couple of them after seeing me wear mine, which I take as a huge compliment since she’s got great style but not rolling in dough, either.
