Spanx Bod-a-Bing pencil skirt, $68

bod-a-bing skirtbod-a-bing skirtThe classic pencil skirt is the work horse of a working gal’s closet, easily giving it a low cost-per-wear. Therefore, it’s easy to justify paying a little more for quality.

However, with so many available you might not think that one for $68 is a real bargain unless it was pretty special.

This one is.

This Bod-a-Bing pencil skirt from Spanx may be the only pencil skirt you’ll ever want to wear. According to Spanx, “The secret liner minimizes bulges and blemishes in the tummy, rear and thighs.” Plus, it’s machine washable and wrinkle-resistant!

It’s available in sizes X-small to X-large in black, as well as in chocolate brown in size small.

I adore it, but I’m afraid of not being able to walk properly!!!! Esp with heels…

I’m sure it stretches enough to walk, FB! And you’re supposed to take small lady-like steps when you wear heels anyways.

That’s funny, though, because when my husband saw my first pencil skirt he asked me how I could walk in it! I didn’t have any problems, though, and I have a rather un-lady-like stride.

And think of it this way, if it did take a bit of effort to stretch the liner, then you have a built in butt exerciser : D

Spanx aren’t cheap, but they are sooooo amazing. Can’t live without them!!

That’s what I’ve heard from pretty much everyone who has tried Spanx! I don’t know why I haven’t started my own Spanx collection yet, but I probably will soon.

What’s the length on this skirt?

  • Florida's Bargain Queen, Meg said:

    Hi Polly!

The description on Amazon says that it falls right below the knee, but it doesn’t give an exact length. If you’re worried that it might be too long, I don’t see why it would be hard/expensive to hem.

    It really works?
Has anyone really tried it on and felt the difference?

I’m always kinda skeptical when dealing with “wonder products”.

I don’t blame you at all for being skeptical, Kpriss!

I did try to find some reviews for you, but so far I haven’t had much luck in regards to this specific product — which is not uncommon, just annoying. However, I have heard a lot of great things about the Spanx brand in general.

Hopefully someone else has tried out this skirt and can give you their impression.

If not, both of the sellers seem to have reasonable return policies, though you should always check a seller’s return policy before ordering.

Has anyone bought this spanx skirt yet? I love the idea behind the secret liner, but am also worried that it might be a bit restrictive. I am always in a hurry (late!) and wonder if the liner round my knees all day might make walking tiring / difficult?
