I love cute shoes. Unfortunately, all those sock-less styles do a number on my feet. Over the years I had tried just about everything on my dry, cracked heels: lotions, files, stones and even my husband’s Dremel tool — and I had been thoroughly unimpressed by them all. So, despite all the great reviews of the Ped Egg, I was reluctant to spend more money on yet another ‘miracle’ product. However, I recently got a gift card to a local drug store and, with plastic money burning a hole in my pocket, I decided to give it a shot.
I’m really glad I did!
Yes, this skeptic has joined the fan club. It was easy to use, felt comfortable in my hand, worked quickly, didn’t hurt one bit, and it left my feet nice and smooth. And provided that I didn’t turn it upside down, it actually did a good job of containing the mess (though I’ll admit that I found it more comfortable to use it upside down and just clean up afterwards). My only complaint is that I didn’t get one sooner — before wasting money on so many other products.
If you have dry, calloused feet and you haven’t tried the Ped Egg, I highly recommend it. It’s been worth every penny, though you can get it for even less than I paid! Right now you can get the Ped Egg Pro for $9.75 — 51% off the list price! And shipping within the U.S. is free! Not in the U.S.? Don’t worry, the seller also ships worldwide.

When the Clarisonic skin care brush system came out, it was a huge hit, despite being $195.
Then came the Neutrogena Wave power cleanser for under $20. Despite having good luck with Neutrogena products in the past, I was a bit sceptical. It’s getting stellar reviews though. It may not be the Clarisonic brush system, but it’s a great product for the price.
It gets better, though!
It’s now just $11.99 — and eligible for Amazon’s free Super Saver shipping!
The catch is that it’s only available in the 48 states from that seller. If your state misses out, get it from this seller for $14 (plus shipping). They also ship to Europe, Canada, the U.S. protectorates, and APO/FPO addresses.

Winter white has a new meaning come shorts season. There’s nothing wrong with being a bit pale, but if you’re scared of looking like the ghost of Christmas past, then it’s time to add some color.
Save money and your skin by skipping the tanning beds. Instead, get your tan from a bottle of Prescriptives Sunsheen allover self-tanner. It’s on sale for $13.75, down from $25. Plus, it ships worldwide!
I love Prescriptives’ self-tanners, especially compared to others I’ve tried. Don’t take my word for it, though, check out the reviews on Makeupalley.com.

One of my major expenses last year was building a collection of beauty products like makeup, makeup brushes, and skincare. I don’t regret it; I love the makeup I have and my skin now looks a lot better naked, but I really can’t afford to spend as much this year.
Therefore, I’ve been thinking about how to cut down on beauty-related expenses with these simple ideas.

If you use makeup wipes to clean makeup from your skin each night, here’s something you need to know: baby wipes are basically the same thing, and cost a lot less money.
I started wondering about them when I noticed that the baby wipes my sister-in-law uses on her adorable sons

As part of my strategy to focus on small gifts to make Christmas shopping easier and cheaper, I’m compiling the ultimate lists of gifts for under $20.
Men have skin, too. Many would rather suffer in silence, though, than to ask their friends to recommend good skincare products.
Fortunately, many men have women in their lives to help them out. Unfortunately, men still don’t have nearly as many choices if they want good products that don’t smell like a rose garden. No worries! You don’t need thousands of products, just a few really great ones.

I’ve already shown you how to treat their feet for cheap, but now it’s the hands’ and nails’ turn. Here are some gift ideas for pampering their paws. Why not provide the fixings for an at-home manicure — and a pair of fur-lined gloves so they can keep their hands toasty?

Do you worry about what goes into your skincare products but are put off by the cost of most all-natural cosmetics?
Burt’s Bees brand skincare products are a personal favorite of mine and my husband. We both love their products — especially their famous lip balm. And they’re priced right, too — just $13.99 for this Head to Toe starter kit that will provide you with not just the lip balm, but also small sizes of 9 other products.
If you haven’t heard of Burt’s Bees, then you probably live outside the U.S. They’re super popular here, having brought “all-natural” to the masses from their headquarters in Durham, North Carolina. They’ve recently started selling their products in other countries, but it can still be hard to get them in some markets. That’s why I’m thrilled to have found a seller that ships worldwide!
Oh, and did I mention that these kits make excellent gifts?

They said “$5 gifts” and that’s what you bought… but when the gifts start opening, it’s clear that no-one else stuck to the rules.
While you’re perfectly entitled to give a cheap gift, there is another option: a WaySpa gift certificate. They’re redeemable at thousands of spas worldwide and they offer near-instant email delivery — so they’re also perfect if you left your Christmas shopping ’til 9pm on Christmas Eve!
Even better, there’s a spa treatment for every budget:
- Under $20: professional eyebrow shaping
- Under $50: manicure plus French polish
- Under $100: a facial or a 60 minute massage
- Under $200: a full pampering package
And if price is no object: Spoil a loved one rotten with the ultimate spa gift: a luxury eco-spa & jungle hideaway in Mexico, as Fashion Tribes recommends.
PS: I was given a massage gift certificate by my brother-in-law last year and it was absolutely wonderful, so I REALLY love this gift idea!
