There’s one area where fairy tale princesses and I agree; Special occasions call for glamorous accessories. And what could be more glam than wearing a dazzling tiara?
This rhinestone and silver plate tiara is perfect for a girl’s quiceanera or prom, but is also a fabulous alternative to a veil for the modern bride who wants to show that fairy tales do come true.
At just $19.99, it’s also a lot cheaper than most of the bridal veils you’ll come across, and much more likely to be reworn. Trust me, wearing a tiara can become highly addictive. You may soon find yourself looking for any excuse to wear it.
(Pssssst, to all the men out there: a tiara can make a really romantic gift.)

If you watched the recent Oprah Show episode on Schlumpadinka Makeovers, then you know that Lloyd Boston considers a trench coat to be a wardrobe essential.
Is it? No, but putting on a nice trench is a fool-proof way to add polish and class to just about any outfit.
So, if you feel like your wardrobe needs an instant makeover, or if you just loved this fabulous coat, check out this Kenneth Cole trench coat. It’s now $50 off — down to $150!
While it’s also available in black and sandstone, I recommend going with the red. It’ll still go with just about anything, but it packs a lot more wow-factor.
And don’t forget to check out Lloyd Boston’s book, Before You Put That On for more advice. (Read my review here.)

Silk scarves are a great accessory for spring. They’re an incredibly easy way to add color and interest to an otherwise basic outfit. I know, I’ve been wearing them a lot lately — and having lots of fun doing so.
There are dozens of ways to wear a scarf, but my favorite right now has got to be the French twist. It’s remarkably simple and you can find the instructions for that and some other popular scarf knots here.
If you’re a regular reader, you know that I love using trendy accessories to update outfits. Since florals are big this season, why not try them out on a silk scarf? It’s a look that’s both of the moment and yet very classic.
Here are three floral silk scarves to get you started:
All ship worldwide from Silk Charm. Shipping to the U.S. is free if you spend $50 or more on Silk Charm items.
And don’t forget about this hummingbird brooch! It would make a beautiful and fitting addition to any of those scarves.

Whether or not you’re going to San Francisco, try wearing a flower in your hair this spring for an unexpected pop of color.
It’s an inexpensive alternative to this season’s trendy floral prints if you’re looking to incorporate florals into your spring wardrobe — and why not, they’re feminine and fun.
Torrid.com has several lovely flower hair clips for just $9! Among others, I particularly like this yellow rose clip
and
this one in red.

For $35, you can get one of these stunning orchid hair clips from Karin’s Garden. While that may seem a little pricey for a hair clip, it’s a very reasonable price for an accessory that will add so much pizazz to so many outfits year after year.
All the clips featured ship internationally.

If you love skirts like I do, then you probably know how great denim skirts are for casual days when you just don’t feel like wearing jeans or shorts. But as great as denim skirts are in theory, most seem to be either too juvenile or too dowdy.
That’s why I love this skirt from Carabella. It’s knee-length which means that it will look age-appropriate whether you’re 18 or 80. The dark wash is slimming and makes it easier to dress up, while the multi-colored adds character without being overpowering.
Originally a few cents shy of $90, it’s now just $15! It’s available in sizes 8-14 and ships worldwide.

If it’s cold where you are or if it’s about to be, then no doubt you can appreciate these convertible mittens
.
I have few glove days left here in Florida this year which is sad because these convertible mittens are not just practical, they’re super cute.
They’re available in gray, ivory, and red. Each pair is just $12.50 and they ship worldwide.

The classic pencil skirt is the work horse of a working gal’s closet, easily giving it a low cost-per-wear. Therefore, it’s easy to justify paying a little more for quality.
However, with so many available you might not think that one for $68 is a real bargain unless it was pretty special.
This one is.
This Bod-a-Bing pencil skirt from Spanx may be the only pencil skirt you’ll ever want to wear. According to Spanx, “The secret liner minimizes bulges and blemishes in the tummy, rear and thighs.” Plus, it’s machine washable and wrinkle-resistant!
It’s available in sizes X-small to X-large in black, as well as in chocolate brown in size small.

I love springtime for all its color, but spring starts out pretty chilly even here in Florida and I hate covering up my cheery spring wardrobe with a somber jacket. That’s why I was so excited recently when I found a bright yellow jacket perfect for spring.
While I haven’t found it online, I did find this lantern-sleeve Twiggy jacket from American Rag that is very similar and just as cute. It’s available in palace blue and bittersweet coral, both great colors that will enhance your spring outfits.
Plus, it’s just $59 — over $20 less than what I paid for my similar jacket.
It’s available in sizes S-L and ships to the U.S. and APO/FPO addresses.

Green may be the top color of the season, but orange is a close second and is a great color to add some real pop to your wardrobe.
Orange is generally harder to wear than green, but don’t let that stop you. If you love orange but think that it doesn’t love you, check out How to work difficult colors into your wardrobe. My final shoe pick is this pair of orange wedge sandals by Easy Spirit. They’d look lovely with a flirty spring skirt and they’re also available in natural and black. They’re now on sale for $46.99, down from $84.95.
Jewelry

Jewelry is yet another place where you probably don’t see a lot of orange, but it can be absolutely fabulous.
For example, check out this beaded bangle cuff bracelet from Fair Trade Gifts. It’s just $11.95.
