The bright flowers of spring and summer are starting to fade even here in Florida. Autumn is officially here, but there’s no need to give up the fun colors of other seasons. Carry some spring flair into fall while fending off those chilly winds with this pink swing jacket from Chadwicks.
It’s just $22.99 and available in sizes 8-16. Plus, a green version is still available in size 16 .

Nothing pulls together an outfit like a great trench coat. Slip on this short trench coat from Chadwicks for instant style in any of the five available colors. I especially love this fresh clover green that’s available in sizes small to extra-large.

If you watched the recent Oprah Show episode on Schlumpadinka Makeovers, then you know that Lloyd Boston considers a trench coat to be a wardrobe essential.
Is it? No, but putting on a nice trench is a fool-proof way to add polish and class to just about any outfit.
So, if you feel like your wardrobe needs an instant makeover, or if you just loved this fabulous coat, check out this Kenneth Cole trench coat. It’s now $50 off — down to $150!
While it’s also available in black and sandstone, I recommend going with the red. It’ll still go with just about anything, but it packs a lot more wow-factor.
And don’t forget to check out Lloyd Boston’s book, Before You Put That On for more advice. (Read my review here.)
Ships to the U.S. and APO/FPO addresses; sizes XS-XL.

Like the trench coat, the peacoat was originally worn by men in the military but now more likely to be worn by us women who appreciate it for its clean lines. Fortunately, guys don’t seem to mind.
This wool peacoat
from dEliA*s is a lovely example of a peacoat that is classic but feminine, since it’s designed to flatter our curvier figures.
It’s an easy choice when you want a practical but stylish coat. The hardest part is choosing which color to get. Both the black and charcoal grey are great if you want a neutral coat. However, I’m in love with the emerald green since it’s harder to find green outerwear and that’s a fantastic shade that’s bright and cheery. Of course, the crimson red is also a lovely choice.
Originally $88.50, this peacoat is now on sale for $69.50. If you need protection from the cold, there’s also this version with Thinsulate

Winter coats aren’t just something you put over your outfit. When buttoned up, they are your outfit. The trick is to find a coat that is exciting enough to stand alone, while neutral enough that it looks great with the outfit underneath, too.
Here’s one from T Tahari that is both! This embroidered cotton voile coat has a lovely pattern that sets it apart from most coats, but it still easily complements almost any outfit because it’s done in black and gray. It’s a winning combination!
Plus, it’s now just $150.75 — down from $268 — until January 20.
Sizes X-small to large available; ships to the U.S. and APO/FPO addresses.

UPDATE: Sorry guys, this one sold out really quickly, although the petite sizes are still available. Better luck next time!
There’s plenty of cold weather ahead this season, but coats are hitting the clearance rack. Now’s the time to grab a coat that you can wear this season and next fall, too — like this one from Nine West.
This jacquard coat features cropped lantern-sleeves, a look that’s both of the moment and has just enough flair to make this coat interesting next year.
And the great part is that it’s now $47.70, or $79.50 in petite sizes — down from the original price of $159.
It’s available in size medium, and sizes X-small to X-large petite. Ships to the U.S. and APO/FPO addresses only.

Fashion trends get a bad rap — so much so that many people would hardly call being labeled “trendy” a compliment. In her series on The fashion industry’s biggest secret, Sara illustrates how many fashion editors, designers, and icons don’t seem to follow trends at all — while fashion victims do.
Keeping an eye on trends isn’t a bad thing, though. In fact, smart shoppers know the value of watching trends, since their coming and going determines what’s available in stores — and what’s on sale.
Plus, the occasional dash of trends can liven up your wardrobe if you choose your items carefully and shop smart.
Here’s how.

I have recently become obsessed with fur. Feline, fabulous, funky fur.
No doubt readers from the northern hemisphere will be amused to note my excitement but, for Sydney girls, fur is uncalled for in terms of a fashion staple, except for the occasional catwalk moment. (Of course I am talking of fur of the fake variety!)
Here are the looks I’ve been loving on Tokyo’s streets.
