Sadly, today, we’re calling it quits.

We’re back in the position we’ve been many times in the life of this site: being blatantly plagiarized by one of the web’s less-scrupulous operators. It’s not the first time we’ve been here, and if we keep going, it won’t be the last — but this time, we just can’t be bothered fighting it. It’s sad that we know the technical and legal manuevring involved in fighting people like this so well, but the longer we blog, the more this becomes a blogger’s core skill set. And that’s just not why we’re in this.

To add insult to injury, this is apparently why our ‘most sincere flatterers’ exist:

The Click Away started when a group of friends were trying to find a good website that had collected information on good websites to shop at. After a few hours without finding a decent website that had given reviews and information on the content of websites, they decided to make their own.

(By “make their own”, read: re-publish The Bargain Queen’s content on their own site, un-credited, but only after taking the trouble to replace our Amazon codes with their own — so if anyone makes money off our content, it’s them. Do people really begrudge us the small amount of money we make, sharing the best bargains we find?!?)

We’re sorry to quit at a time when bargain-hunting is more important than ever; but don’t worry, there’ll be plenty more ‘helpful’ sites where The Click Away came from… and while they might not have any new content to steal from us, I’m sure they’ll find someone else’s content to use soon enough.
